ATHENS - Torri Edwards, the 2003 world champion in the women's 100 meters, will compete for Team USA at the 10th World Cup in Athletics, the team announced Friday. The U.S. relay pools for the meet also have been announced.

The world outdoor 200m silver medalist in 2003 as well, Edwards will compete in the 100 meters in Athens, where she replaces Marion Jones. As the 2006 USA outdoor champion, Jones opted not to compete in the World Cup.

Edwards also will be part of a women's 4x100m relay pool that includes Wylleshia Myrick, Stephanie Durst, 2005 USA 100m champion Lisa Barber, Brianna Glenn and 2006 USA and NCAA 100m hurdles champion Ginnie Powell.

The men's 4x100m pool is comprised of Kaaron Conwright, world outdoor 200m silver medalist Wallace Spearmon, top-ranked Tyson Gay, Jason Smoots, USA 200m runner-up Jordan Vaden and Brian Johnson.

The 4x400m relay pools are Olympic relay gold medalists DeeDee Trotter, Monique Henderson, Moushaumi Robinson and Sanya Richards, as well as world outdoor 400m hurdles silver medalist Lashinda Demus and Mary Danner. The men's pool is Olympic gold medalists Derrick Brew and Darold Williamson, 2005 NCAA runner-up Jamel Ashley, 2006 USA runner-up LaShawn Merritt, Mitch Potter and two-time USA 400m hurdles champion Kerron Clement.
