The course for the TransCanada 10K Road Race Canadian Championship and Run with the Champions mass participation race, taking place on October 7th in Ottawa, was set and approved today. The race will start and finish on the Ottawa Parkway in front of the new Canadian War Museum. Elite athletes and mass race participants will head east along the Parkway and make a left at Booth Street, crossing the bridge into Gatineau, Québec. Next will be a right onto rue Laurier followed by another right heading back into Ottawa over the Portage Bridge. The remainder of the distance will be covered with a 7K loop along the Ottawa Parkway, with the race finishing where it started in front of the War Museum.

Emilie Mondor Ceremony
A special ceremony will take place before the start of the race to pay tribute to Olympian Emilie Mondor who died tragically on September 9th in a car accident. Emilie’s parents will be on-hand to witness the tribute and the race which Emilie was registered to take part in. Emilie will be immortalized with her picture adorning all of the racers bibs.
