DENVER - BKB of Denver, Colorado and The End Result Company of Indianapolis, Indiana has announced that they have merged to form the Q Racing Group.
In combining services, the new Q Racing Group will be directly connected to over 200 running events representing over 500,000 athletes in at least 50 major markets, making it the largest road racing timing company in North America.
In addition to race timing, the Q Racing Group will also offer online registration, results management, event management, website services, announcing and consulting. Both BKB and The End Result Company have extensive experience in the comprehensive delivery of these services. In fact, the two leading principals of the merger, Creigh Kelley and Michael Ducy, are considered icons in the running timing and management components of the industry.
"Running USA is encouraged by the advances that collaborations such as this bring to the sport of road racing," said Basil Honikman, Executive Director of Running USA.
The Q Racing Group will debut its new, integrated timing services at the Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival in mid-October.
"We've enjoyed a great relationship with BKB and Creigh Kelley for years and look forward to having the new Q Racing Group's services be better than ever," said Lee Corrigan, President of Corrigan Sports Enterprises and Executive Director of the Baltimore Marathon.
The combined audience scope, in terms of direct runner contact via results, timing and online registration, will place the Q Racing Group in the forefront of running service companies.
"This merger is right in line with the recent growth and direction of our company. It gives us the opportunity to expand our business to the western states with a reputable management firm. We believe the merger of services and contacts will put both companies in a place collectively that they probably couldn't get to on their own. Finally, and it probably goes without saying, we couldn't be more pleased to be paired with Creigh and his organization," said Mike Ducy, owner of The End Result Company and the CEO of the new Q Racing Group.
"If I have learned nothing else in my 27 years in the running business, it's that real success is attained through the bonds and relationships you build with select individuals and organizations. There is no question in my mind that the relationship we are now building will be significant to us as business partners and to the overall running industry. We're thrilled to be connected to Mike Ducy and his organization," said Creigh Kelley, owner of BKB and President of the Q Racing Group.
The merger will allow the new Q Racing Group to offer a scope of services and audience reach unequaled by any other company in the running community.
