Running: Wanted: Course Bands for 2007 P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & Half-Marathon

Organizers seek bands performing salsa, reggae, R&B, alternative, classic rock and country

PHOENIX, Ariz, (Oct. 10, 2006) - The P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ˝ Marathon is now recruiting bands to play along the course on race day, Jan. 14, 2007. More than 30,000 participants will run and walk the 26.2 and 13.1-mile courses to the unique sounds of over 70 live bands selected to perform at the event.

The musical running event provides a unique opportunity for bands to play to an appreciative audience in a positive, healthy, upbeat environment. Event directors are looking for all formats of music. Invigorating, high-energy music - to motivate and entertain the runners and walkers - is required. Everything from salsa to reggae, R&B to alternative, and classic rock to country is welcome.

Bands interested in "rockin' the routes" should apply now. All bands that apply by Oct. 25, 2006, will have the chance to win a $500 gift card to P.F. Chang's China Bistro. Band crew members receive free event T-shirts and tickets to the evening headliner concert featuring the Gin Blossoms.

Sound, stage and promotion are included. Send a CD or tape, bio information and a photo to Entertainment Solutions, Inc., Attn: Carolyn Reyes, 4130 N. Goldwater Blvd., #215, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. For additional information and questions, contact Carolyn Reyes at 480/663-0700 or email Carolyn@solutionsaz.com. All band submissions must be received by Oct. 31.

Don't run, walk or rock? There are other ways to get involved with this fun community event. Volunteers are needed for the Health & Fitness Expo and on race day, and cheer teams are currently being recruited to participate in the "Spirit on the Course" competition. For more information on volunteering, cheering and course bands, or to register to run or walk in the event, visit www.rnraz.com or call Elite Racing at 800-311-1255.
