High-end Products and Olympic Caliber Coaching
New York, NY – Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers, the nation’s only comprehensive center for personalized cycling and multisport equipment and training programs for athletes at all levels, will open in New York City. Cadence has signed a lease for an 11,000 square foot space at 174 Hudson Street, in the heart of TriBeCa.
New York City’s triathlon and cycling communities, already huge, are growing daily. New York is one of the nation’s top four metropolitan destinations for cyclists and triathletes, and ranks as one of the top three cities for per capita licensed professional and amateur cyclists and triathletes. Cadence’s newest site will be ideally located close to the West Side Highway bike path, a spot that is always flooded with professional and amateur cyclists.
When the new location opens in spring 2007, Cadence will offer New York’s world-class and avid amateur athletes on-site physiological testing, biomechanical services, health and weight loss consultations and indoor training. The second floor of the two story center will house Cadence’s testing and training facilities, many unique to the New York location, including an Endless Pool, weight training equipment, Vasa swim trainers, and shower and locker facilities.
The Cadence coaching staff, lead by Olympic silver medalist Brian Walton, will guide clients through extensive physiological testing including the monitoring of blood lactate levels allowing coaches to create targeted training zones which are developed individually to maximize personal performance in running, swimming and cycling.
Cadence’s retail store will offer the most technologically advanced bicycle and bicycle frame brands available, including Cyfac, BMC, Cervelo and Kuota. Every bike will be personally customized, hand assembled on-site, and fitted specifically to the rider’s exact body measurements by Cadence’s coaches. Cadence will also offer the world’s finest selection of wheelsets and components. Complete bikes will range in price from $1,000 to over $20,000.
A full range of companion apparel and products for every training need will also be available in the New York store. Cadence carries a wide variety of both men’s and women’s apparel, including brands such as Sportful, Assos, Rapha, Castelli, Lole, SheBeest, and Capo-Forma. Cadence’s staff is the most knowledgeable in the industry, making certain that no training or product detail is overlooked.
In addition, Cadence’s NYC center will offer its patrons a comprehensive cycling concierge service which will ensure that all purchased products are delivered directly to the client’s home and will offer client-site bicycle fittings. There will also be a coffee and juice bar, and valet bike service which will allow clients to store bicycles at the facility and pick them up when they want them.
TPG Architects will handle the interior design and architecture of the new location, which will take full advantage of the meticulously restored turn-of-the century building’s large windows and brick walls. GMAC Real Estate IPG brokered the lease for the space.
