TORONTO, Nov. 1 - JeansMarines, the women's marathon running group
founded by Toronto physician, Dr. Jean Marmoreo, is pleased to announce the
appointment of Tracey Acker as its new administrator.
Prior to joining JeansMarines, Tracey was provincial coordinator for
Joints-in-Motion, the Arthritis Society's marathon training program. While
there, she was in charge of generating awareness, marketing, recruitment, and
internal and external administration.
Tracey also managed a $350,000 fund-raising budget, and organized the
Joints-in-Motion participation in races in Canada and abroad. In addition, she
volunteered as an organizer for this summer's 30 km Midsummer Night's run in
the Toronto docklands. Tracey, of course, is a marathoner herself, running the
Dublin and Honolulu Marathons. Before joining the world of marathon training,
Tracey was a flight attendant for Air Transat and a Flight Centre travel
consultant.
Said Jean Marmoreo: "As JeansMarines grows, Tracey will help us manage
that expansion process so that women will be able to gain the maximum benefit
from the JeansMarines training program."
Said Tracey Acker: "Passion, personal commitment and team support.
JeansMarines is a dynamic group that understands these three elements which
gives me great honor to be part of the future program developments."
