NEW YORK - This year's ING New York City Marathon will see the much
anticipated debut of one of America's top distance running talents. Team
USA Minnesota athlete Katie McGregor will begin her quest to move from
U.S. track champion to top marathoner this Sunday in New York City.
Though American record holder Deena Kastor is one of the leading race
favorites for the title in the Big Apple, McGregor is hopeful that she
can follow the same path to success as Kastor. "It's an honor to follow
in the footsteps of Deena," said the two-time USA 10 km Champion. "I
hope that one day I can accomplish even a few of the things she has
accomplished."
In an exclusive USATF Podcast <USATF.org>
, Kevin Patrick of KCMO radio spoke to McGregor about her debut at New
York as well as her connection to USA Distance Center, Team USA
Minnesota. To download the podcast, visit www.usatf.org
