The European Athletics Association announced today that Olympic gold medalist, Stefan Holm of Sweden, and two-time European Championships bronze medalist in the javelin, Mikaela Ingberg of Finland, have been named chairman & chairwoman, respectively, of the European Athletics Athletes Commission after the initial meeting of the commission was held in Lausanne recently.
"I feel it is really important that athletes have a voice in how our sport is organized and presented and I have ambitions for this commission to be very active throughout our term," said Holm in a press release.
The commission, which was elected by their fellow athletes at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg last August is comprised of:
