Athletics: Holm And Ingberg To Head European Athletics Athletes Commission

The European Athletics Association announced today that Olympic gold medalist, Stefan Holm of Sweden, and two-time European Championships bronze medalist in the javelin, Mikaela Ingberg of Finland, have been named chairman & chairwoman, respectively, of the European Athletics Athletes Commission after the initial meeting of the commission was held in Lausanne recently. "I feel it is really important that athletes have a voice in how our sport is organized and presented and I have ambitions for this commission to be very active throughout our term," said Holm in a press release. The commission, which was elected by their fellow athletes at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg last August is comprised of: Jolanda CEPLAK (SLO, 800m) Stefan HOLM (SWE, High Jump) Mikaela INGBERG (FIN, Javelin) Ivet LALOVA (BUL, 100m) Laurent OTTOZ (ITA, 110m H, 400m H) Manuel MARTINEZ (ESP, Shot Put) Monika PYREK (POL, Pole Vault) Simon VROEMEN (NED, 3000m S/C) Comment on this story.
