  • One of the jewels of the multi-sport world, the SOS…Survival of the Shawangunks triathlon from the New Paltz area. An eight stage adventure through spring-fed lakes and across extraordinary cross country trails.
  • ING New York City Marathon week begins with the Poland Spring Marathon Kickoff and the energy level of the crowd is just about maxed out. A New York Road Runners event.
  • The latest stop in the World Marathon Majors series. The real, - Berlin Marathon, where the elite go for records and the rest savor the extraordinary course.
  • A Michelob Ultra Great Moment in Racing. 2003: Paul Tergat…Berlin…world record.
  • Scholastic harriers test themselves on the hills of the classic Van Cortlandt Park course in the Bronx in the Manhattan High School Cross Country Invitational, staged by the Armory Foundation.
  • The Royal Air Force aerobatic team, the Red Arrows, puts some afterburner in Great Britain’s Bupa Great North Run, a half-marathon from Newcastle to South Shields, and the racer of the day is American Dathan Ritzenhein.
  • All things Norwegian are celebrated in Central Park in Grete’s Great Gallop, Norway Run and Troll Stroll, a New York Road Runners event.
