Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers TriBeCa Location Will Offer Olympic Caliber Training to Manhattan’s Cycling Community
New York City– When Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers opens in New York City this spring, it will do so with accomplished triathlete Mikael A. Hanson as assistant director of performance and head triathlon coach. Cadence is the nation’s only comprehensive center for personalized cycling and multisport equipment, coaching programs, and physiological testing services for first-timers to world champions and is the exclusive coach to the United States Marine Corps’ (USMC) All Marine Running and Triathlon Teams. Mikael Hanson joins the elite coaching team at Cadence comprised of world-champion runners, swimmers and cyclists including Olympic silver-medalist Brian Walton, vice president of performance, National Track Champion Ryan Oelkers, director of coaching programs, and 11-time National Track Champion Benjamin Sharp, executive director of performance in New York City.

Prior to joining Cadence, Hanson was president and founder of Enhance Sports, a multisport and cycling coaching company, where he coached elite athletes. With over 20 years of racing in endurance sports of every variety, Hanson is a former nationally ranked cyclist, avid cross country ski racer and certified USA Triathlon Coach who has extensive experience working with runners, cyclists and triathletes. In addition to training athletes of all skill levels, Hanson ran endurance training programs for several firms, including JackRabbit Sports and The Athletic and Swim Club, and has also consulted for several product companies including Suunto – a producer of global watch and heart rate monitors headquartered in Finland.

Hanson received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin in finance and economics before going on to earn an MBA from New York University. He spent over fourteen years in various senior positions on Wall Street, most recently as vice president of global research and of head of US fixed income research at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in New York City. After a successful finance career, Hanson left the banking industry in 2005 to pursue his true passion, coaching, full time.
