QUANTICO, Va. - (November 29, 2006) - The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) has announced the Pacers as the 2006 MCM Running Store Team Competition champion. The Northern Virginia running store team finished the 2006 MCM on October 29 in a combined time of 9 hours, 25 minutes, 40 seconds. Gotta Run of Arlington finished in second place with a combined time of 10:34:00.

Stephanie Burns, 3:52:25
Local running stores formed co-ed teams to compete for the Running Store Team title. The top two male scores and the one top female score from each team combined to determine the winner of the 2006 competition. All scores were based on ChampionChip times (net).
"This competition brought many fine runners from the great DC area running stores for friendly competition," said Rick Nealis, MCM Race Director. "I am proud to present this award to Pacers for their accomplishment. Thank you to all those who participated in the Running Store Team competition and congratulations on a great effort."
The MCM Running Store Award will be presented in a special ceremony to be held this winter.

Since its inception, over 300,000 civilian and military runners from all walks of life have participated, deservingly earning the event its nickname "The People's Marathon."
