The 2007 Canadian Duathlon Championships in Parry Sound, ON, has moved from early summer to late summer. The 9th annual Duathlon National Championships will now take place on Saturday September 15, 2007.
The change of date occurred as a result of the Swyft organization committee deciding that the date of Sunday June 24, 2007, was not a proper fit for all of the parties involved in the Championship event.
According to Event Organizer, Steve Wyrozub, “the move to September was made after much consideration of the saturated international, national, and the Ontario triathlon / duathlon schedule. September offered the least number of collisions with competing events and it was also more favourable with the host town and organizing body.” Wyrozub also noted, “September is a great month for duathlon events. What a better way to end off a great Multisport season with a National Championship event”.
Registration for the Duathlon National Championship event will open online at www.swyft.ca on Friday January 26th, 2007.
The event will take place at the Bobby Orr Community Centre from Thursday September 13, 2007 to Saturday September 15, 2007, in beautiful downtown Parry Sound, ON. Some features of the event include an Elite draft legal Championship race and a separate Age Group and Junior Championships race featuring the best duathletes in Canada.
