Team USA ties for first at Norwich Union International
Bernard Lagat, Milton Campbell, Richard Smith and Aarik Wilson led Team USA to a first place tie Saturday at the 2007 Norwich Union International in Glasgow, Scotland.
Team USA, Great Britain and Germany all tied for first place with 50 points. Sweden was fourth with 46 points, while the Commonwealth Select team was fifth with 43 points.
Two-time Olympic medalist and reigning USA Outdoor 1,500m and 5,000m champion Bernard Lagat won the men's 1,500 meters in 3 minutes 45.55 seconds, over the Commonwealth's Laban Rotich by more than a second. Also picking up first place points were 2006 USA Indoor 400m champion Milton Campbell, who won the men's 200m in 21.05 and 2005 NCAA Indoor long and triple jump champion Aarik Wilson who won the men's long jump with a leap of 7.81 meters/25 feet 7.5 inches. 2002 USA Junior champion Richard Smith won the men's 800m in 1:49.66.
Other U.S. point scorers on the day include 2004 NCAA 60mH champion LoLo Jones, who took second in the women's 60-meter hurdles in 8.06 seconds, along with 2004 Olympian and the 2004 NCAA 200m champion LaShaunte'a Moore, who finished second in the women's 200m in 24.04. 2004 Olympic silver medalist Toby Stevenson cleared 5.45m/17-10.5 to take third place in the men's pole vault as 2004 Olympic gold medalist Moushaumi Robinson ran her way to third place in the women's 400m, crossing the line in 54.70. 2006 NACAC 5,000m runner-up Desiraye Osburn took third in the women's 1,500m in 4:20.39 and Ernest Wiggins was third in the men's 60m in 6.71.

Eastler wins USA 50 km walk title, Hauch repeats
American 30 km race walk record holder and reigning 20 km champion Kevin Eastler made his 50 km a debut a memorable one Sunday with his victory at the first stop of the USA Race Walking Grand Prix, the 2007 USA 50 km Championships in Chula Vista, Calif.
Eastler's winning time of 4 hours 5 minutes 44 seconds gave him the IAAF B standard for the distance.
Other top finishers were two-time Olympian Philip Dunn (2nd-4:09:54), 2004 Olympian John Nunn (3rd-4:14:16), Ray Sharp (4th-4:26:07) and three-time Olympian and 1999 World Outdoor Championships bronze medalist Curt Clausen (5th-4:27:41).
The men's event served to select athletes who will represent the US at the Pan American Cup of Race Walking in Brazil and the IAAF World Championships in Japan.
Mark Green continued his assault on the masters record book by setting the 50-54 record in a time of 4:37:28.
Heidi Hauch of Fountain Hills, Ariz., easily defended her title in the event, winning in 5 hours, 42 minutes 55 seconds. Karen Karavanic was the runner-up in 6:21:01 and Dora Choi finished third in 6:33:57.
In the accompanying 20 km event, Joanne Dow and Theresa Vaill finished under the IAAF B standard with times of 1:34:21 and 1:34:42. Loretta Schuellein (WalkUSA) achieved an Olympic Trials qualifying performance with her 1:46:21 finish.
The next USA Race Walking Grand Prix event is the USA 1 Mile Championship at the 100th Millrose Games in New York City, which will mark the debut of the event for women at Millrose.
