Athletics: 28th Annual Lasalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle To Race Through Downtown Chicago Sun., Mar. 25

(CHICAGO, March 20, 2007) – The 28th annual LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle 8K Race and 5K Walk featuring a record 30,000 participants will take place in Chicago’s Grant Park on Sun., Mar. 25. The event includes the two-day LaSalle Bank Health & Fitness Expo at Navy Pier, the Race and Walk both starting and finishing in Grant Park and the Post-Race Party starring the musical talents of Mike & Joe and Maggie Speaks.

Locally recognized as the annual rite of spring and the launch of the Chicago outdoor running season, The LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle will welcome 30,000 participants – 92% of them hailing from Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. The Expo will host more than 50,000 guests Mar. 23-24, as they tour more than 80 exhibitors featuring the latest in health and fitness apparel, technology and gear, among other general interest exhibits.

Following is a timeline of The LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle’s weekend events and expected road closures.

Friday, March 23
10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 24
9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Transportation and Parking:
Free transportation to the Expo is available via The LaSalle Bank Shamrock
Shuttle, a trolley that will run between the "L" stop located at State and
Lake Streets in Chicago (southeast corner) and Navy Pier during Expo hours.

Navy Pier parking vouchers are available to all attendees at the Expo:
0-2 Hours: $7
2-4 Hours: $12
4-8 Hours: $22 (standard public rate)
8-24 Hours: $25 (standard public rate)
