Athletics (RRW): New Title Sponsor For AFC Half-Marathon

From David Monti

© 2007 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com For its 30th edition on Sunday, August 19, the America's Finest City Half-Marathon in San Diego, Calif., will welcome a title sponsor: Energy Athletics Strength, a sports nutrition company. The event will now be called the EAS America's Finest City Half-Marathon.

"We are very excited to have EAS's participation during this historic running," said Neil Finn, race director and president of Neil Finn Sports Management, Inc. "EAS's commitment to excellence, nutrition and endurance will complement the entire race weekend."

This popular Southern California road race had over 7000 entrants last year and nearly 6000 finishers (plus nearly 1000 finishers in a companion 5-K). The event, with it's scenic, point-to-point course which finishes in Balboa Park, attracted runners from 45 U.S. states and 15 foreign countries.

The EAS sponsorship will feature the four-product EAS Energy System as well as Myoplex® Nutrition Bars. EAS Endurathon™ will be offered as the on-course energy replacement drink, and EAS Race Recovery™ will be served at the post-race party.

Race registration is open at the event website: www.afchalf.com. Last year's event sold out.
