Athletics: The 2007 Vancouver Sun Run Is Fast Approaching! With 49,148 Registered

Vancouver (April 5, 2007) – With the countdown on and the start of the big race happening Sunday, April 15 at 9 a.m., the 23rd annual Vancouver Sun Run presented by HSBC Bank Canada is once again shaping up to be one of the biggest ever! With over a week to go, the numbers of 49,148 (to April 5) are closing in and are expected to smash the record field set in 2006 of 50,746. What a show it is going to be and there is still time to be part of it! Final registration deadline is Saturday, April 14. Registration is also still being accepted for the 2.5K Shaw Mini Sun Run – a great opportunity for the little folk or those not up to tackling the 10km route. The Shaw Mini Sun Run starts at 8 a.m. on Pacific Boulevard, between BC Place and the Plaza of Nations. Registration details: You can register by fax (604-689-9419) or online at www.sunrun.com until Midnight April 10. Register in person only April 13 - 14 at BC Place Stadium (777 Pacific Boulevard). There is no race day registration. Registration Fees: Individual 10K - $40.00 2.5K Shaw Mini Sun Run - $22 (Adults or escorts must accompany the children in the Shaw Mini Sun Run – all adult escorts or parents must register. There is no fee for adult escorts or parents unless a T-shirt is requested.) All fees include a souvenir 100% cotton T-shirt featuring artwork by Vancouver artist, Tiko Kerr. Kids get a paint-your-own T-shirt and a box of paints.
