Arizona has no shortage of great triathletes. In addition to Arizona’s 2005 representatives Dameon Hahn and Erica McClurg, and 2006 ambassadors McClurg and Brian Grasky, here are some of the other athletes that we hope to see at this annual sprint course classic include (in alphabetical order): Angela Axmann, Janell Bolen, Tim Bolen, Luisa Bryce, Shannon Driscoll, Emily Edger, Katie Ellis, Jane Esahak-Gage, Sara Lieneke-Nickle, Alex Manessis, Marty Mares, Maureen Middleton, Lisa Ribes, Marc Rubin, Brandon Sullivan, Thomas Taylor, Melanie Valerio, Caroline Walden, and Kristi Willenberg. “We are especially intrigued by German transplant Patrick Bless, ” says Jerry MacNeil, “Best of the US” PR Director. “Patrick is a terrific triathlete. If he is eligible to race for Arizona, we’d love to see him at the BOUS Championship.”
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Arizona at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 6 at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, Florida. Any male/female combination of the abovementioned athletes would ensure a dynamic presence for Arizona at the Championship.
