(April 10, 2007) The record Sun Run field of 50,746 registered has been smashed and is now history!
With 51,108 currently registered (as of 5pm today) for this Sunday's big race, the Vancouver Sun Run presented by HSBC Bank Canada has set another historic record for the second year in a row.and is still counting.
"This record registration is an example of how committed our communities are to health and wellbeing. All participants can be proud of this accomplishment," stated Jamie Pitblado, Vice President, Promotions and Community Investment for the Vancouver Sun.
There is still time to take part in the big show! Registrations are being accepted until the final registration deadline, Saturday, April 14.
Registration details:
a.. You can register by fax (604-689-9419) or online at www.sunrun.com until midnight tonight (April 10).
b.. Register in person only April 13 - 14 at BC Place Stadium (777 Pacific Boulevard) at the Sun Run Fair also the location for this year's race package pick-up.
The times of the Fair are:
Friday, April 13 - 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday, April 14 - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
There is no race day registration.
Registration Fees:
Individual 10K - $40.00
2.5K Shaw Mini Sun Run - $22
(Adults or escorts must accompany the children in the Shaw Mini Sun Run - all adult escorts or parents must register. There is no fee for adult escorts or parents unless a T-shirt is requested.) All fees include a souvenir 100% cotton T-shirt featuring artwork by Vancouver artist, Tiko Kerr. Kids get a paint-your-own T-shirt and a box of paints.
The Vancouver Sun Run presented by HSBC Bank Canada is open to international elite competitors, recreational runners, joggers and walkers, wheelchair competitors, teams, schools, and children.
The 2007 Sun Run is Sunday, April 15, getting underway at 9 a.m. in downtown Vancouver. The 2.5K Shaw Mini Sun Run starts at 8 a.m.
