Top sprinters set for Reebok Grand Prix on June 2

Lauryn Williams, the reigning World Champion; Veronica Campbell of Jamaica, the most successful track athlete at the 2004 Olympics; Tyson Gay, one of the world's finest sprinters;and World Championship silver medalist Wallace Spearmon will headline the sprint fields June 2 at the Reebok Grand Prix in New York City, organizers announced Thursday.

The third-annual Reebok Grand Prix will begin at 5 p.m., at the state-of-the-art Icahn Stadium, on Randall's Island. Last year, in the final event of the evening, Ethiopian superstar Meseret Defar broke the 5,000-meter World Record, a feat named the sport's worldwide Performance of the Year by a woman.

Williams, the 2005 World Champion at 100 meters, also brought home gold in the 4x100m relay and is a 2004 Olympic silver medalist. Campbell is a triple-medalist from those same Olympics, winning gold at 200 meters and the 4x100m relay and bronze at 100 meters to become the winningest female track athlete at the 2004 Games. One of the most popular athletes in Jamaica, Campbell is sure to draw huge cheers from her legions of Jamaican fans in New York. Williams and Campbell will face off at 100 meters.

Gay last season became one of the world's top 100m-200m sprinters, ending the year ranked #1 in the world at 200 meters and #2 at 100 meters and repeating as World Athletics Final champion at 200, while his training partner, Spearmon, won the U.S. 200-meter title and moved up to #3 on the all-time 200 list. Gay will run the 100-meter dash in New York, while Spearmon will compete at 200 meters.

ACC Select to air coverage of ACC Outdoor Championships

ACCSelecthas announced that same-day recaps of the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championshipswill be available to fans across the country exclusively onACCSelect.com.

Exclusive three-day coverage of the ACCMen's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which arebeing hosted by the University of Maryland,will be available for fans to watch at 8 p.m. ET nightly from Thurs., April 19through Sat., April 21 and on an on-demand basis. Thursday and Friday's coverage will consist of recaps of 30 minutes or more showcasing the highlights and triumphs from the majority of the day's competition, with events that begin later in the evening being part of the following day's show.
