Multisport: Muddy Buddy Series Kicks Off New Season with New Partners in Grime

SAN DIEGO, Calif. May 8, 2007 – Today, Muddy Buddy, a unique off-road ride and run series, announced new partners in grime for the 2007 Muddy Buddy. Under Armour, Merrell, Feetures!, Novara and Paul Mitchell are getting in on the mud-slinging action that kicks off in May at Disney World Orlando, Florida and runs through November.

The Muddy Buddy Ride and Run Series involves teams of two traversing a six-mile obstacle course. One team member starts running and one riding; switching roles at each obstacle. The teams continue leapfrogging each other through the course, culminating with a crawl in a custom built, 50-foot long, sloppy, sticky mud pit - hence the name, 'muddy buddy.'

"We are pleased to partner with such high quality brands in bringing performance products to our participants," said John Smith, co-owner of Muddy Buddy. "Our sponsors mirror the adventurous lifestyle of our participants; they stand up to whatever's thrown at them…in the case of Muddy Buddy, that means a lot of mud."

Returning partners in grime include: REI, Redhook, Land Rover Certified, Cytomax, Yakima, Smith Optics, and Natural Geographic Adventure. This year as an event highlight, Muddy Buddy will give away a Land Rover Certified LR3 to a lucky participant.

Some give-aways and prizes for Muddy Buddy race participants include:
• An official Muddy Buddy Under Armour performance shirt
• A sock swap from Feetures!
• Biodegradable shampoo from Paul Mitchell
• Novara mountain bikes
• Merrell shoes
• Smith Optics
• 6-month subscriptions to National Geographic Adventure Magazine

A portion of the series proceeds will benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), the official charity of the event. The Challenged Athletes Foundation is dedicated to reaching out to people with physical disabilities by helping them pursue a more active lifestyle through physical fitness and competitive sports. Athletes from the foundation will be participating in some of the races, partnering with local celebrities and media personalities.

The 2007 Muddy Buddy Series schedule is as follows:

Orlando – May 12th – Sold Out
Austin – May 20th – Sold Out
San Jose – June 10th
