(St. Paul, MN – 5/9/2007)–– “Best of the US” Management and Mark Livesay and his team from Ultramax Events invite the triathletes of the Show Me State to race at the QUARTERMAX TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US MISSOURI QUALIFIER at the Innsbroock Resort near St. Louis on Saturday, June 23.
Missouri has many fine triathletes. Female standouts include Helen Alexander-Kratz, Anna Assenmacher, Mary Blandford, Karla Lang, Kristin Moore, Amber Mounday, Jennifer Meyer, Nikki Reed, Sarah Sumner, Mary Sundy, Jill Tillman, Christy Usher and Molly Vetters-Smith. For the men, there’s Jeff Allen, Timothy Battles, John Beyer, Matt Bonastia, Mathew Brier, Thomas Etter, Todd Glass, Landon Hough, Delbert Marriott, Michael Miller, Ryan Roth, Ben Schloegel, Allyn Smith, Nate Smith, Stephen Taylor, Richard Wierzba, Sam Yount (2006 MO BOUS Representative) and Ted Zderic. Fourth place finisher at the 2006 BOUS Championship was Columbia’s Jillian Peterson, who has since secured a pro license, and thus is ineligible to compete in the 2007 Championship. She is one of eleven BOUS athletes who have entered the pro ranks in the last two years.
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Missouri at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 6 at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, FL. Any combination of the abovementioned male and female triathletes will insure a strong presence for Missouri at the Championship.
