WASHINGTON, DC – Registration for the 2007 Army Ten-Miler (ATM) closed on May 13, at 9:44am in a record 42 days. This year's increased field of 26,000 filled in roughly half the time as last year. After registering over 5,800 people on opening day, online registration continued at a blistering pace for America’s largest 10-mile race.
“The Army Ten-Miler has a tradition of excellence and we are pleased to see that demand continues to grow for this premier running event,” said Jim Vandak, Race Director. Last year 97% of our runners rated the race as “Good or Excellent” and we look forward to providing our 2007 runners with another fantastic race weekend experience.”
The Army’s 23rd annual premier running event has attracted participants from all 50 states and 12 countries including: Finland, Germany, Ireland and South Korea. Over 558 teams from around the world will compete for top honors in 25 divisions.
All hope is not lost for runners shut out the race. For the third year, Army Ten-Miler and MarathonGuide.com have joined to offer an online transfer program for Army Ten-Miler runners. Runners who are currently signed up but unable to run can transfer their entry over to someone else. More information can be found on www.armytenmiler.com.

The 23rd edition of America's largest 10-mile running event takes place on Sunday, October 7 in Washington, DC. The Association of the US Army (AUSA) and KBR are the co-lead sponsors for this year’s event. This Army tradition attracts over 26,000 runners, of varying experience, from around the world to run a course that starts and finishes at the Pentagon and passes such national landmarks as the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Race weekend activities including the Race Expo presented by New Balance, fitness clinics, and the Press Conference sponsored by TANDBERG are free and open to the public. Race day features the Health Net Federal Services Youth Runs, the 94.7 the Globe Post Race Party with bands, entertainment and a live broadcast and HOOAH Tents representing Army installations from around the world. Families will enjoy the Health Net Federal Services Youth Activity Zone, interactive inflatables, Army racing displays, the GEICO Gecko and much more. Proceeds from the Army Ten-Miler go to support soldier and soldier family Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs.
