Monte-Carlo - In a week’s time, the IAAF Golden League 2007 will blast out of the blocks for what promises to be a golden summer of Athletics.
On Friday 15 June, in Oslo’s famous Bislett Stadium, the ExxonMobil Bislett Games opens the world’s premier series of one-day meetings, with the six major city fixtures neatly straddling the 11th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, Osaka, Japan (25 Aug to 2 Sep). Oslo, Paris and Rome take place in the weeks prior to the championships, and Zürich, Brussels and Berlin lead-out afterwards on the path to the season’s conclusion at the IAAF / VTB Bank World Athletics Final, Stuttgart, Germany (22 – 23 Sep).

The IAAF Golden League 2007 offers a $1 Million Jackpot - athletes must win at all six meetings to acquire at least a share - which represents international athletics’ biggest annual payday.
However, should NO athlete manage to attain six wins and claim the $1 Million, then anyone with five victories will share half the original prize - $500,000.
NOTE. This secondary prize is only on offer should nobody win his or her event at all six meetings.
All winners must compete at the IAAF World Athletics Final to be eligible for their share of the Jackpot.
IAAF Golden League Jackpot Events in 2007:
MEN: 100m, 1500m, 110m Hurdles, Triple Jump, Javelin Throw;
WOMEN: 100m, 400m, 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault.
