Athletics: Three Hogs Honored by Track and Field Coaches' Association

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Three Razorbacks have been named to the 2007 US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association All-Academic Track and Field Team, it was announced by the organization this week.

High jumper and Harrison, Ark. native Brent Rosson leads the Razorbacks with a 3.74 cumulative GPA as an exercise science major. Rosson finished fourth (6-9.75) at the SEC Indoor Championships and sixth (6-8.75) at the SEC Outdoor championships in the high jump. He was a NCAA Mideast Regional Championships qualifier and cleared the 6-10.75 standard twice during the outdoor season.

Ethel, La. native Tyler Hill graces the honor roll with a 3.48 cumulative GPA as a biology major. Hill earned the first All-SEC honor of his career with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the SEC Indoor Championships. At the SEC Outdoor Championships, he finished fifth (14:16.89) in the 5,000 meters and eighth in the 10,000 meters (31:04.07). His season-best time of 14:09.15 in the 5,000 meters qualified him for the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships.

Liberty, Mo. native Adam Perkins rounded out the Razorbacks with a 3.42 cumulative GPA as a finance major. A five-time All-American and 2006 national champion during his time as a Hog, Perkins ended his stellar career with two runner-up finishes at the conference championships during the 2007 season. He was second in the SEC Indoor mile with a time of 4:01.75 and was the first athlete not qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

During the outdoor season, he finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:44.71. Clocking four regional-qualifying marks during the season, he finished 10th in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships and did not earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Both Rosson and Hill will return to the Razorbacks for the 2007-08 school year joining 20 returning lettermen and 13 newcomers.
