Athletics: 35th Annual Governor's Cup Road Race Set for October 27

Columbia, S.C. (August 9, 2007) - The Carolina Marathon Association is proud to announce the 35th Annual Governor’s Cup Road Race, scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2007. The Governor’s Cup is known for its scenic course that begins at the State House, in downtown Columbia, and ends at the historic Horseshoe at the University of South Carolina. The race ends with a “Finish Line Expo” that will feature a variety of refreshments, entertainment and vendors.

In its 35th year, the Governor’s Cup has something to offer to the novice as well as the most experienced runner. This year’s race will feature a Half-Marathon, 8K Run, 4-Mile Walk, and Kid’s Fun Run.

According to Race Director, Robin Snaden, “this year’s race will bring in people from all across the southeast region and is sure to provide competition and fun for those of all ages.”
