Athletics: Spirit of the Marathon World Premier will be in Chicago!

“Spirit of the Marathon” has been accepted to the Chicago International Film Festival and will have its world debut with back to back screenings on Friday evening October 5th, 2007! This is two days prior to the 30th running of the Chicago Marathon. For all you Chicago natives, or runners who plan to be in town for the marathon, please stay tuned for more details regarding tickets. You can view more information on the Chicago International Film Festival at www.chicagofilmfestival.org. Special Screening

We are still holding a special screening contest for the city in which we get the most interest. So far, Memphis, TN is leading the way; however, there are many other cities and clubs that are quite active in lobbing for this event. We have every intention of making sure all of you who have taken the time to contact us get a chance to see the film either theatrically or by DVD. The running community’s support has been tremendously helpful in getting this film to the finish line. We would like to reward your support with the best running film you’ve ever seen!

“Spirit of the Marathon” in Runner’s World

Keep your eyes open for a write up on “Spirit of the Marathon” in the October issue of Runner’s World! If you write for any running or fitness publications and would like to do an interview with the filmmakers, please contact our Public Relations Coordinator, Melissa Leggett at mleggett@calico1880.com.

What’s Next?

Once we have our world premier in Chicago, we will be solidifying agreements with distribution partners, formulating the best theatrical release plan, and bringing “Spirit of the Marathon” to a city near you. We will also be submitting the film to more festivals around the US and abroad. Thank you

Finally, we’d like to thank everyone who has helped on this film over the past five years. Your support, guidance, and knowledge has been invaluable. “Spirit of the Marathon” is truly a film that captures the essence and drama of human triumph achieved through training for and completing a marathon.
