Wind Tunnel Training Now Available to USAT Members

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 12, 2007) -- USA Triathlon (USAT) has reached an agreement with Colorado Premier Training (CPT) to make the advantage of wind tunnel testing available to triathletes at all levels with services aimed at USAT annual members as well as USAT elite and National Team athletes.

This relationship establishes CPT as an Official Wind Tunnel Testing Supplier of USAT and the USAT National Teams Program. The USAT National Team Athletes will spend time in the wind tunnel, improving their cycling position and efficiency in their continued pursuit of international success.

"The facility itself is world-class and to provide the best coaching service possible, CPT has hired Mark Cote from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to run wind tunnel operations," said CPT owner Steve Owens. "Colorado Premier Training strives to be the most advanced coaching organization in the world. We are pleased to be working with a similarly minded organization in USA Triathlon and look forward to working with many triathletes. Together with USA Triathlon, we can educate athletes on the importance of drag and power to drag testing and show that overall efficiency on the bike can lead not only to huge time savings on the bike, but improvements in overall efficiency. If you can get an athlete 10 percent more efficient on the bike in terms of energy expenditure, they can take that energy savings and have better performance not just on the bike portion, but on the run as well."

Mark Cote comes to CPT with experience working with athletes such as Alberto Contador (2007 Team Discovery), Carlos Sastre as well as members of Team CSC, Liberty Seguros, TIAA-CREF and other professional teams.
