Athletics: Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Helps Sportstats Set Traffic Records

OTTAWA, ON. October 2nd. Canada's number-one timing company, Sportstats, reports that Sunday's Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon helped establish new records for traffic on their website, www.sportstats.ca.

According to Sportstats President, Marc Roy:
The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon help us set a new records for Unique visitors on Sunday.
For most of the year we average between 15,000 and 19,000 unique visitors daily on Sportstats.
For the Month of September the average was 21,811.
On September 30th we received 57,434 unique visitors on www.sportstats.ca and 1,357 million hits.

We had 39,200 hits on the "Follow a Runner Live" option, and 3255 people watched the 'Live Leaderboard'.

The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon also set some records of its own. John Kelai ran 2:09:30 for victory, and the fastest-ever marathon on Canadian soil, eclipsing the 31 year old record of East Germany's Waldemar Cierpinski from the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Ethiopia's Asha Gigi ran a new women's course record of 2:33:16. Michal Kapral, aka "The Joggler", re-claimed the Guinness World Record for running while juggling 3 objects, with a mesmerizing 2:50:09. Fully 12,500 runners registered for the 8th edition, a record, coming from 34 countries, 40+ American states and every Canadian province.
