October 8, 2007 - Today, Ironman announces its new relationship with Ironman
Organic Coffee, which will serve as the official coffee brand of Ironman.
The product will be on-site and available at this year's Ford Ironman World
Championship in Kailua-Kona, HI.
Recently founded, Ironman Organic Coffee is the creation of Ironman athletes
Chris McCrary, Carlos Caicedo and Andres Caicedo. The team of friends
realized the need for creating an "ideal" coffee after noticing the market
was limited.
"Becoming an Ironman takes time, dedication, discipline and accepting
nothing, but the best from yourself. Those same characteristics go into
every bag of Ironman Organic Coffee. We've spent countless hours ensuring
that the beans are as strong as the brand," said McCrary.
The beans originate from the El Quiche region, located in the mountains of
tropical Ixcan. The high-altitudes and volcanic soil in Guatemala provide
some of the best coffee growing conditions in the world. Ironman Organic
Coffee Roasters have spent 25 years perfecting the art of the dark roast.
The result is a superbly dark, bold and satisfying coffee.
Athletes and spectators will be able to purchase whole bean and ground
coffee at the Ford Ironman Village and at popular hangout, Lava Java,
located on Alii Drive. During race week, Lava Java will be serving Ironman
Organic Coffee as the featured "World Coffee" and will also have products
for purchase. Additionally, the coffee will be sold at Unison, located
under the Banyan tree near the finish line on Alii Drive.
