OTTAWA - The 2007 TransCanada 10K Run with the Champions is set to take place this Saturday October 13th along the picturesque Ottawa Parkway. The races begin and finish in front of the historic Canadian War Museum.
Chantal Petitclerc will line up in Ottawa to compete for the Canadian wheelchair 10K championship. Already this year Chantal has broken two world records in the 1500 and 200 metres distances and captured gold medal in the 1500 metres demonstration event at the 2007 World Championships held in Osaka, Japan. This will be the first national wheelchair road race championship fully staged by Athletics Canada. It has been a good year at Athletics Canada for the complete integration of paralympic athletes, said Petitclerc. We have been working together for a long time and these projects of common championships have been in the plans for many years, and it is a true pleasure to see them become reality, with a big success. After a good experience for all at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Windsor, Im looking forward in participating in the 10 km Canadian Championships.
