OTTAWA - The 2007 Canadian Cross Country Championships will take place Saturday December 1 at the University of Guelph. The race begins at the HR Hilton Centre in the Universities arboretum.
Guelph native Hilary Stellingwerff will have the opportunity to compete in front of friends and family. Hilary won the 1500 metres Canadian Championship earlier this year in Windsor, ON. She then went on to compete at the World Championships in Athletics, finishing 6th in her semi-final heat just missing making the final.
Other notable athletes at the Championships include:

10km Canadian Road Race Champions Dylan Wykes of Kingston, ON and Megan Metcalfe of Edmonton, AB. Megan won gold at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro as well as taking the 5000 metres Canadian title.

Reid Coolsaet of Hamilton, ON will be a threat to the Canadian title. Reid, who trains in Guelph, finished second at the 2006 Cross Country Championships. Reid is the reigning 5000 metres Canadian champion.
