2007 Rugby World Cup Springbok coach and the man better known as the ‘human polar bear’ to present at Fitness Convention
The Sports Science Institute of South Africa and Discovery Vitality are proud to announce that Jake White and Lewis Pugh are two additional keynote speakers for the 5th Discovery Vitality Fitness Convention.
The convention takes place at the Vodaworld Conference Centre, Midrand, Johannesburg, from 28 February – 1 March 2008 and provides a great networking opportunity to those in the Health, Fitness and Sports Industry.

Jake White
On 20 October 2007, Jake White became the second Springbok coach to lift the William Webb Ellis trophy, as South Africa won the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He was also named IRB coach of the year. White's rise to the top job in SA Rugby, was a journey of intense determination to succeed against all odds. In so doing, he became the first man to coach the Springboks for four successive seasons. Lewis Pugh
In July 2007 Lewis became the first person to complete a long distance swim at the Geographic North Pole. The 1km swim, in a water temperature of - 1.7ºC, took 18 minutes and 50 seconds to complete. In twenty years, Lewis Pugh has pioneered more swims around famous landmarks than any other swimmer in history.
