Bermuda International Race Weekend set for January 18-20, 2008
BOSTON - Runners traveling to the 2008 Bermuda International Race Weekend with Marathon Tours and Travel will be eligible to accomplish a very unique challenge - providing that they do not mysteriously "disappear" in the process. The inaugural Bermuda Triangle Challenge, a trio of running events, will be held January 18-20, 2008, during the Bermuda International Race Weekend.
The Bermuda Triangle Challenge will consist of the Front Street Mile (open division) scheduled for 6:00pm on Friday, January 18; the Bermuda International 10K Run/Walk to be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 19 and either the Bermuda International Marathon or The Bermuda International Half Marathon scheduled for 8:00am on Sunday, January 20. Participants who complete the Challenge will receive a commemorative medal and t-shirt.
"This will be Marathon Tours' 30th trip to Bermuda race Weekend and we wanted to offer something special," said Thom Gilligan, president and founder of Marathon Tours and Travel. "The Challenge will be a fun way for our travelers to want to take full advantage of the Martin Luther King Day holiday weekend, the running events offered and a perfect winter getaway."
The Bermuda International Marathon features a two-loop marathon (one-loop for the half-marathon) course that treats runners to spectacular views of Harrington Sound's blue waters, elegant pastel-colored homes and lush green flora.
The Bermuda Triangle Challenge is offered exclusively through Marathon Tours and Travel. Participants must book a Marathon Tours hotel package to be eligible for the commemorative medal and t-shirt.
