“Best Of The US” Invites Arizona’s Best To Race At The Sahuarita Lake Triathlon On May 26
(St. Paul, MN – 3/10/2008)–– “Best of the US” Management, Jim and Rane Stites and their TriTucson crew invite the triathletes of the Grand Canyon State to race at the SAHUARITA LAKE TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US ARIZONA QUALIFIER in Sahuarita, AZ south of Tucson on Monday, May 26.
“Arizona has always sent strong teams to the Best of the US Championship,” states BOUS Press Director Jerry MacNeil. “Especially in 2007. In the thrilling women’s race, Phoenix’s Katie Ellis came from behind to win by a two second margin. Her teammate Cam Hill of Fountain Hills placed 12th. Together they powered Team Arizona to a 2nd place finish in the Fastest State Competition.” Ellis has since procured a professional license, thus is ineligible to represent her state at the Soma Quarterman / Best of the US 2008 Championship in Tempe, Arizona on October 26.
Despite Ellis’s absence, Arizona should send a podium-worthy twosome to this year’s Championship. “Best Of The US” Invites Texas’ Best To Race At The Buffman & Squeaky Triathlon On May 18
(St. Paul, MN – 3/10/2008)–– “Best of the US” Management and Race Directors Mike and Marti Greer invite the triathletes of the Lone Star State to race at the 5th annual BUFFMAN & SQUEAKY / BEST OF THE US TEXAS QUALIFIER, a popular event contested at Buffalo Springs Lake east of Lubbock on May 18.
Texas has no shortage of triathlon talent. Among those that we hope to see on May 18: Bobby Gonzales, Michelle Lester, Chris Arhus, Shanna Armstrong, Russell Avery (2006 TX BOUS Representative), Angelica Balentine, James Bales, James Cotter, Stacy Dannels, Alma Darensburg, Rip Esselstyn, Alisa Gartner, Todd Gerlach, Tracy Harrison, Aja James, Michelle LeBlanc, Joey Mcelhaney, Sheila Natho, Lance Parker, Victoria Piper, Seve Plamondon, Autumn Ray, Ian Ray, Tommy Rushing, Amanda Russell, 17 (2006 TX BOUS Representative), Melissa Ruthven, Jeannie Sampson, Sam Shildgen, 19, Ann Smith, Lynne Smith, Sally Taggert, Adam Wilk, Bree Wilson and Ahmed Zaher.
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Texas at the “Soma Quarterman / Best of the US National Championship” on October 26 Tempe, AZ. Any male/female combination of the abovementioned athletes will give the Lone Star State a formidable presence at the Championship.
