Triathlon: 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship Receives Emmy Nominations

Tarpon Springs, FL (March 14, 2008) – The Ford Ironman World Championship that aired on December 1, 2007 was among the nominees announced yesterday for the 29th Annual Sports Emmy Awards. The nominees are recognized by the National Academy of Television and Arts and Sciences, with nominees from a variety of 30 categories. Ironman Productions, now with 42 nominations and 14 wins, was recognized in the categories of Outstanding Edited Sports Special and Outstanding Camera Work.

“To be nominated again is a real honor and our appreciation goes out not only to the production team, but also the athletes, volunteers and staff. It takes commitment from all those involved to produce a telecast as unique as ours,” said Ironman’s Executive Television Producer, Peter Henning.

Other nominated properties in the categories of Outstanding Edited Sports Special and Camera Work include: Super Bowl 360 (ESPN), Unsettled Scores (ESPN2), Inside the NFL (HBO) and Focused: The Future of Freestyle Skiing 2007 (Rush HD).

Winners will be announced at the 29th Annual Sports Emmy Awards Ceremony on April 28, 2008. The ceremony will take place at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of the Lincoln Jazz Center in New York City. Leading sports broadcasters, personalities and television professionals will be presenters at the event.
