(Duluth, Minn.) The field for the 15th annual William A. Irvin 5K is nearing its capacity just one day after the online registration period began. Less than 150 spots remain for the 3.1-mile race on Friday, June 20. Runners interested in securing an entry in the field of 1,200 are urged to register as soon as possible at www.GrandmasMarathon.com.
The William A. Irvin 5K starts and finishes alongside the permanently docked William A. Irvin ore boat near the downtown Duluth waterfront. The event is the first of three road races during Grandma's Marathon weekend. Less than 300 spots remain for the 32nd running of Grandma’s Marathon, while registration is closed for the 18th annual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon. These two races are held on Saturday, June 21. In all, more than 17,000 runners are expected to participate in the three races held during Grandma’s Marathon weekend.
