Monte Carlo – The IAAF and Mondo are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement that will see Mondo continue as Official Supplier until 2019.

“I am particularly pleased to see that a company which started its relationship with the IAAF back in 1987, is still committed to continuing right up until 2019 – almost 30 years later,” said IAAF President Lamine Diack. “This agreement is excellent news for the IAAF not only because it represents a considerable increase to the current contract but also because, as was the case of the TDK sponsorship renewal during the last World Championships at Osaka, it shows that the IAAF and the sport of athletics is able to build and nurture long lasting relationships.”

The IAAF will be making further commercial announcements in the coming months and, thanks to the support of our Marketing Partner Dentsu, sales of the sponsorship programme for the next World Championships in Berlin in 2009 are progressing well.

Widely acknowledged as providing the fastest competition track surfaces in the world, Mondo has provided tracks for the last 9 Olympic Games as well as numerous IAAF World Championships. To date 228 world records have been set on Mondo tracks, most recently, at the recent IAAF World Indoor Championships in Valencia where Russia’s Yelena Soboleva set a new women’s World Indoor 1500m on a recently laid Mondo track.

Mondo invests heavily in research and development to ensure its products meet the highest quality standards in the industry, deliver optimal athletic performance, are durable, require minimal maintenance and are environmentally safe.

A family-owned business since its founding in 1948, Mondo's global headquarters are in Italy. The company has manufacturing facilities in Europe and North America and is present in 196 countries around the world.
