OTTAWA - Athletics Canada is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with iRun, Canada’s new running magazine. The partnership takes effect with today’s launch of the first issue of the magazine.
“This is a natural partnership that combines Canada’s national running magazine with Canada’s national governing body for track and field, road running, road racing and cross-country running,” said Mark Sutcliffe, publisher of iRun. “We’re thrilled to be working with Athletics Canada to provide a new resource for their members, and to tell all of our readers about the exciting things happening with national programs.”
Each issue of iRun will include The Fast Lane, a two-page feature with stories and profiles on Canada’s top runners and future stars. Copies of iRun will be distributed at Athletics Canada events, including the upcoming Canadian Track and Field Championships in July. The inaugural Fast Lane takes a look at Canada’s middle distance depth with the spotlight on Megan Metcalfe, Gary Reed and Hilary Stellingwerff.
The first issue of iRun also features a history of great Canadian running moments, an argument for why Canada is a nation of runners, a tribute to Terry Fox, and contributions from Olympic champion Simon Whitfield, top marathoner Tania Jones and adventure runner Ray Zahab.
