Triathlon: “Best Of The US” Invites New York’s Elite Amateurs To Race At The Mini-Musselman Triathlon On July 12

(St. Paul, MN – 5/30/2008)–– “Best of the US” Management and Race Director Jeff Henderson invite triathletes of the Empire State to race at the 5th annual MINI-MUSSELMAN TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US NEW YORK QUALIFIER, a great sprint distance race (500 yard swim, 15 mile bike, 3 mile run) that will be staged at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, NY on July 12, the same day as the ITU Pan American Cup featuring Olympians Julie Ertel and Jarrod Shoemaker.

Some of the many talented male triathletes we hope to see on July 12 include Andrew Boone, Kyle Cashin, Grant Connelly, Tim Donahue, Mike Halstead, Thomas Holden, Curt Eggers, Jeff Hunt, Carl Johnston, Trevor Jones, David Kane, Robert Kenny, John McGovern, Dennis Moriarity, John Parker, Andrew Powell, Alexander Sherwood, Andy Starowitz, Sean Sullivan, Trevor Syversen (2005 NY BOUS Representative), Matt Thibodeau, Ben Turnbull and David Yokelson. Top women include Mimi Boyle, Beth Burchill, Katherine Cimonetti, Stacy Creamer, Julie Denney, Christine Dunnery, Mary Eggers, Jennifer Hanley-Pinto, Kathleen Hayden (2005 NY BOUS Representative), Julie Hood, Diane Ineman, Meredith LaRossa, Karin Linner, Cassie McWilliam (USAT Master of the Year in 2007), Ashley Morgan, Mehan Newcomer, Robyn O’Kane, Edie Perkins, Leah Roberts, Kirsten Roe, Julie Rosa, Barbara Sessa, Jeanette Shelow-McDougal, Kerry Simmons, Katherine Ward, Carol Wilke and Michelle Wolfson.

The women’s 2006 Best of the US Championship was won in dominating fashion by Rochester, NY’s Heidi Grimm. Having since procured a pro license and relocating to Colorado, Grimm is no longer eligible to compete for a BOUS invitation.

The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent New York at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 26 at Tempe Towne Lake in Tempe, Arizona. Any male/female combination of the abovementioned athletes will give the Empire State of a formidable presence at the Championship.
