(St. Paul, MN – 6/5/2008)–– “Best of the US” Management and Tri-Mom Events invite the triathletes of the Land of Lincoln to race at the 3rd annual EVERGREEN INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US ILLINOIS QUALIFIER at scenic Comlara County Park near Bloomington-Normal on Saturday, July 19.
Illinois has a multitude of great triathletes. In addition to their 2005 representatives, Christian Waterstraat and Kim Genenebacher, 2006 delegate Davie Irion, and Jennifer Harrison, who placed an impressive 7th at the 2007 Best of the US Championship, here are some of the other athletes that we hope to see at the expertly-produced three-year-old Olympic course event (in alphabetical order): Jeremy Anderson, Elizabeth Attig, Jessica Aveyard, Tim Battles, Tate Behning, Katie Bolling, Jeremy Borling, Adam Brown, Brian Cadman, Mike Clark, Emily Cocks, D”Arcy Dawson, Eric DeWitt, Jacquie Faust, David Fix, Daniel Funk, Jason Glowney, Karen Grabowski, Sarah Grunner, Jerome Harrison, Gabe Hamer, Dean Hewson, Steve Johnson, Stacy Kiefer, Meghan Lapeta, Dan Litwora, Vachee Loughran, Rick Mann, Kevin McCarthy, Jennifer Meyer, Eric Ott, Christopher Reikert, Jennifer Schife, Cheryl Scigousky, Tara Sheetz, Todd Smith, Michael Stec, Mimi Stockton, Chris Sweet, Matt Thibodeau, Jeremy Verstraete, Mark Wachendorf, John Wiberg, Kelly Wissolik, Julie Wood, Paul Wozniakowski, Jeff Zematis, Brad Zoller, Adam Zucco and Lindsay Zucco.
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Illinois at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 26 at Tempe Towne Lake in Tempe, Arizona. Any male/female combination of the abovementioned athletes would insure a dynamic presence for Illinois at the Championship.
