With multiple first place wins, several course records, and a growing diverse team of international athletes, the elite Foot Solutions Team is becoming a force to be recognized.
For the 2007-2008 year, much excitement is stirring over a relatively new team. Consistent successful racing has brought this team to the top of its game with its’ depth in skill and international diversity.
The highlights of the year begin in January 07 with Jared Nyamboki of Kenya winning the Miami ING half marathon in a blazing 1:07:11. Next, another win by Master Rimma Dubovlk in the San Diego Rock and Roll marathon gave the Ukrainian a 2:36:50 finish. Romanian Claudia Colita had an outstanding year. A few highlights of her racing come from a first place win in the Nashville Country Music Half Marathon, second at the Birmingham Half Marathon, and then another win at the Rite-Aid Cleveland Marathon. Claudia’s Nashville Half was fast enough to give her the course record in 1:16:14. With almost another record-breaking race, Anzhelika Averkova took first place in 2:34:50 at the 30th Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon. The finishing time was less than forty seconds off the course record. Another fast woman teammate, Tatiana Belovol won the United Technologies Greater Hartford Marathon. One of the most impressive wins of the year was by Tamrat Ayalew. In his huge victory with 40,000 plus runners, he captured the Marine Corp Marathon and beat the two time reigning champion.
Along with the individual successes, the team also brought home the two winning team titles in the annual Army Ten-Miler in Washington D.C. As both the men and women won the overall open division, the women’s team broke the open team division record. Master Firaya Zhdanova and Grandmaster Tatyana Pozdnyakova contributed with two more additional records with their finishing times. Winning both titles brought much excitement to the team.
As the team excelled in multiple races, the team has also participated in multiple outreach programs across the country.
Overall Team Foot Solutions is gaining recognition throughout the country with the standout performances of each athlete.
