BOULDER, Colo. – June 11, 2008 – When Big Matty Reed won the USA Triathlon Olympic trials in April, he punched his ticket to Beijing where he will be racing against the best in the world for title of Olympic champion. Shortly after the Olympics, Reed will travel to Portland, Ore., to race against the best in the USA on Sept. 20. He will also provide guidance and assistance to 15 CEOs who will be racing at the USA Triathlon Championship as part of the CEO Challenge.

CEO Challenges, the world leader in sport competitions for CEOs, has a few remaining slots for the CEO Challenge at the 2008 USA Age Group National Triathlon Championship in Portland. Reed will host the CEO Challenge competitors. Participants must be CEOs, owners, presidents of companies with at least $1 million in annual gross revenue. C-suite executives of companies with at least $2.5 million are also invited to take part.

The Age Group National Championships is one of the most competitive amateur triathlons contests at the Olympic distance in the United States. The race consists of a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run. More than 1,000 athletes, representing all 50 states, will compete for the chance to be crowned a national champion. Within this event, CEO Challenges reserves a limited number of spots specifically for the CEO Challenge.

The all-inclusive entry is $2,200 for one competitor and one guest, of which 15 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, established in 1997 to support the athletic endeavors of all people with physical challenges by providing grants for training, competition and equipment needs.

“How cool will it be for these CEO Triathlon Challenge competitors to hang out for the weekend with Matt Reed, fresh off his Olympic debut?” asked Ted Kennedy, Owner of CEO Challenges. “It’s not often ‘regular’ triathletes have the opportunity to really get to know one of the sport’s great athletes. And, if we’re lucky, maybe Matty will have a little hardware from Beijing to show the group.”

Participants who sign up through CEO Challenges will receive guaranteed entry into the race (no need for CEOs to previously qualify at a regional event); three nights accommodation for two at the Marriott SpringHill Suites; organized transportation; no-line registration; networking opportunities; group meals including an exclusive Dinner with the Pros; Zoot CEO Challenge apparel; on-site assistance by Reed; activities and events for family members and guests in attendance; and much more.

In addition, up to four of the fastest CEOs from various age groups will automatically qualify for the ITU World Triathlon Championship in Australia in 2009.
