Hoffa to appear on Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Reigning World and U.S. Olympic Trials shot put champion Reese Hoffa
will be a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening (July
15), as he prepares for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Hoffa is making his second Olympic Games appearance after throwing a
distance of 22.1m/72 feet 6.25 inches to win at the 2008 U.S. Olympic
Trials - Track & Field. Hoffa also won the Reebok Grand Prix this year
(21.29m/69-10.25) and was second at the Nike Prefontaine Classic
(21.73m/71-03.50). Indoors, he placed second at the 2008 World Indoor
Championships in March.
In 2007, Hoffa won the World and U.S. Outdoor titles. At World Outdoors,
he earned the world title with a throw of 22.04m/72-03.75, exceeded the
other world competitors in all but one of his throws. Track & Field News
ranked Hoffa the #1 men's shot putter in the world in 2007 for the
second year in a row.
He is the 2006 World Indoor gold medalist and was second at that meet in
