Athletics: Record field for this Saturdays 13th Annual Indianapolis Marathon & Half Marathon

INDIANAPOLIS (October 18, 2008)-The Indianapolis Marathon & Half Marathon at Lawrence celebrates its 13th year on October 18, 2008. Over 5,600 runners and walkers are currently registered for this year’s race in the marathon 1,400, half marathon 3,100, 5K 600 sold-out, 1 Mile Kids Run 150 and 4-person Marathon Relay 368 (92 teams). “With registration online open until Wednesday October 14 and the walk up registration available at the packet pick-up on Friday we should reach a full field of 6,000 participants the 5K is already sold-out,” says Race Director Joel Sauer. The race starts at Saturday at 8:30 AM at Fort Benjamin Harrison and weaves throughout scenic Lawrence, through Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park and along the Fall Creek Corridor. Packet Pick-up and walk up registration will be held at Benjamin Harrison YMCA in Lawrence on Friday October 16 from 11:00am-8:00pm. There is No race day registration.
