Triathlon: SheROX Triathlon Series Expands to Miami

Registration opens Wednesday, October 15

October 14, 2008 - Organizers of the SheROX Triathlon Series announced today the addition of the SheROX Miami Triathlon to the popular all-women's series. SheROX Miami is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2009 and online registration opens Wednesday, October 15, 10 am EDT at www.SheROXTri.com.

With successful events in Philadelphia, Tempe and Charlotte and with the addition of Miami, the SheROX Triathlon Series is the fastest growing all-women's triathlon series in the country. Additional stops for the 2009 series are expected to be announced later this year.

"We're extremely excited to bring the SheROX Triathlon Series to Miami this spring," said Barb McKeever, Race Director, SheROX Triathlon Series. "In just two years, the SheROX Series has helped introduce thousands of women to the sport and provided a true challenge for even the most experienced age-grouper. South Florida is a thriving triathlon community and we've already seen a tremendous amount of excitement and support from women in the region ready to welcome the SheROX Triathlon Series."

The SheROX Miami course is designed with the athlete in mind. This true sprint distance triathlon will include an .8K swim in the Virginia Key Bay, 32K bike on Rickenbacker Causeway between Key Biscayne and Miami, and a 5K run along Biscayne Bay. In addition to the amazing views, both the bike course and run course are closed to traffic to provide a completely safe environment. SheROX Miami will also offer prize money for both professional and amateurs - one of the only all-women's events to offer such an award.

Produced by the organizers of the popular Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon -- a top-five ranked triathlon in the country -- the SheROX Triathlon Series is designed to ensure that every athlete will feel a sense of accomplishment and empowerment about their experience. Each race in the SheROX Series is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.

SheROX Miami will be produced in cooperation with Excel Events & Productions - a Miami-based event production firm focused on large scale multisport events including the highly successful Miami International Triathlon.

The signature element of the SheROX Triathlon Series is the SheROX Mentor and Training Program. The SheROX Mentor Program pairs race participants with experienced female triathletes who embrace sharing their passion for the multisport lifestyle. Mentors provide information and support to help women feel comfortable about what to expect during training and on race day. The SheROX Mentors are available via e-mail and proactively send regular tips and suggestions to address individual needs and concerns. Additional programming includes a wide variety of pre-race group events and activities to further help the athlete prepare for the SheROX Experience.

Additional details will be announced as the event date approaches. For more information on any race in the SheROX Triathlon Series, visit www.SheROXtri.com.
