OTTAWA The 2009 Canadian Marathon Championships will be contested this Sunday in the nations capital as part of the Ottawa Race Weekend. The marathon also serves as the final qualifying meet for the 2009 Marathon World Cup team which will compete at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin this August. The Marathon World Cup team is a pilot project including Athletics Canada, the Ottawa Marathon and the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

The racers will line up at the Elgin and Laurier start line with the wheelchair race beginning at 6:55am followed by the able-bodied race at 7:00am.
