Britain's Ironcouple Stephen and Bella Bayliss finished 3rd and 1st respectively at Ironman Austria this Sunday in Klagenfurt, Austria.
Bella Bayliss won the women's race in 8h50m13s breaking her own British record for the fastest Ironman or Iron distance race. She now holds the two fastest times by a British women over a 2.4mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 run.
On her result she comments "I am absolutely delighted to have won Ironman Austria. I have been concentrating hard on my training and the hard work showed. I went 8h50m13s, a very fast time with a PB of 3 hours on the run. Next up is Ironman UK and Stephen and I are hoping to repeat last year's double victory."
On coming 3rd in the men’s race Stephen comments "I came to Ironman Austria aiming for a top 3 and achieved that. I had a few stomach issues on the run and I am a little disappointed I didn't finish 2nd but now my focus is on being in the best possible shape for Ironman UK."
